Summary
Medieval Times is a cross-curricular thematic resource designed for use in multi-level and split-grade classes, special education/resource room classes, school-wide theme studies and in regular classrooms. The authors (adaptive behaviour and multi-level classroom teachers) created the unit to span curriculum areas and to accommodate different age, interest and ability levels in the classroom.
Comment
The unit is organized as two levels: Level 1 for grades 1 – 3, Level 2 for grades 4 – 6. Activities are coded according to Level by a pictorial symbol to assist teacher organization of materials among students of varying abilities. Included are Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Math and Crafts activities. This unit has been classroom tested in multi-grade classrooms and includes reproducible materials.
